Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association defeated Punjab Cricket Association by 72 runs in their third league match of the 42nd All-India Uttarakhand Gold Cup Cricket Tournament on Monday. Batting first, Uttar Pradesh posted 325 in 48.1 overs with the help of Adarsh Singh’s 119 off 94 balls, including 14 boundaries and five sixes. His innings was supported by Ruturaj Sharma, who scored 110 off 88 balls. Captain Aradhya Yadav also made a valuable contribution of 29 runs.
Manpreet Sandhu was the most successful wicket taker for the bowling side as he claimed 4/50, while Damanpreet Singh bagged three wickets. Parvajot Singh and Anmoljit Singh claimed one wicket each. Chasing 325, Punjab got off to a brisk start. Dev Amritpal Singh scored 42 off 21 balls, and Captain Uday Pratap Saharan contributed 50.
Rahul Kumar (44) and Ish Rao (43) were the other main scorers, but the team failed to achieve the target and bundled out at 253. — TNS
