Dhurandhar star Ranveer Singh has found himself in the middle of intense speculation following reports about his exit from the much-hyped Farhan Akhtar film Don 3. Even as the controversy continues to generate headlines, rippling into social media debates among fans, the actor was spotted at the Mumbai airport in ethnic wear, heading out of the city.
While fans have been speculating where was Singh heading to, it turns out that the actor was visiting the revered Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru. Interestingly, the temple visit has also led to discussions about a possible connection to the Kantara universe. As per images doing the round on social media, Ranveer Singh, sporting a Pathani kurta and Nehru jacket was seen offering prayers at the iconic Chamundeshwari Temple, one of Karnataka's most significant spiritual landmarks. Perched atop the Chamundi Hills, the temple attracts thousands of devotees every year and holds immense cultural and religious importance in the region.
However, this was not a random visit and what made it particularly noteworthy is its association with the cultural and spiritual themes that have become synonymous with the Kantara franchise. As per a report in NDTV, the actor's visit comes following a directive by the Karnataka High Court after Ranveer Singh offered an unconditional apology in the Kantara mimicry case following the submission of his revised affidavit in April.
The court had, at the time, observed that the matter was likely to be disposed of and had ordered the actor to offer prayers at the temple within four weeks. As per a report in ETimes, MJ Roopa, secretary of the Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority revealed that the actor had visited the temple at around 7.30 am. Sources from the temple also revealed he came like a common devotee and spent nearly 10 minutes inside, offering prayers. Temple staff later recognised the actor and welcomed him with a garland.
The temple appearance comes at a time when reports about Ranveer's association with Don 3 continue to dominate entertainment news. On Monday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced that its membership base of over four lakh workers would refrain from collaborating with Ranveer Singh following his reported last-minute withdrawal from Don 3. The move came after the film’s producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, lodged a complaint with the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), which subsequently escalated the matter to FWICE for further consideration.
However, the actor has refrained from making any public comments on the matter. Addressing the speculation, a spokesperson recently shared a statement stating that Ranveer continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for everyone involved with the franchise and adding that he sincerely wishes the team success and has consciously chosen to maintain grace and restraint while dealing with the situation.
