English Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly joined Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion in the race to sign highly rated Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna ahead of the summer transfer window. The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the standout young talents in Sweden’s top flight with AIK, attracting growing attention from top European clubs following his impressive start to the season. Yohanna has registered five goals and four assists in 12 appearances across all competitions, despite AIK’s inconsistent start to their campaign, further boosting his reputation as one of the league’s most exciting prospects.
According to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea have now entered the competition for his signature, setting up a potential bidding war with Newcastle and Brighton, who had already made early moves for the youngster. Brighton were among the first Premier League sides to show concrete interest and are believed to have reached a verbal agreement with the player’s camp, although negotiations with AIK are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are understood to have submitted an improved offer in an attempt to hijack the deal, as they look to outbid their Premier League rivals. With the summer transfer window approaching, Chelsea are expected to push strongly to convince the Nigerian forward to choose Stamford Bridge, setting the stage for an intense transfer showdown among the English clubs.
