Coronation Street's spoilers for the coming week reveal a string of explosive twists on the cobbles of Weatherfield. It was only recently that Theo Silverton's lifeless body was uncovered in the ITV soap's gripping whodunnit. His killer has yet to be identified, but the long-running drama has confirmed six suspects who will come under fierce scrutiny from detectives over the coming weeks. Those in the frame include Theo's estranged husband Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Gary Windass, Summer Spellman, George's girlfriend Christina Boyd and Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton.
Summer was recently taken into custody, and during Monday's episode she rang Todd to reveal she was being transferred to prison after police concluded she was responsible for Theo's death. However, next week's spoilers hint at a dramatic shift, with Summer's prison departure coinciding with a brand new suspect entering the frame. In upcoming scenes, Todd asks DS Lisa Swain to return his mobile phone from police custody, but her response leaves him completely blindsided, reports the Daily Star .
Later in the week, a significant breakthrough regarding Todd's phone emerges when it turns up at a pawn shop. Lisa orders it to be sent to forensics for fingerprint testing and further examination. By the week's end, Lisa arrives to arrest Brody Michaelis on suspicion of theft. She escorts a protesting Brody to her car after forensics uncover his fingerprints all over Todd's handset.
Can Brody talk his way out of it, or has he just become the prime new suspect in Theo's murder? Elsewhere over on the cobbles, another character faces being unmasked next week. In recent episodes of the ITV soap, a mysterious online account known as Truthteller has been targeting and tormenting Daniel Osbourne. Hapless Daniel has endured a turbulent spell on the cobbles of late, after uncovering that teacher girlfriend Megan Walsh had been using him as cover for her deeply troubling affair with teenage pupil Will Driscoll.
In the wake of this bombshell, coupled with learning that Megan had terminated a pregnancy that could have been either his or Will's, Daniel has become increasingly bitter towards those around him, while some have heartlessly ridiculed him over the relationship. Things have gone from bad to worse for Daniel thanks to Truthteller, with the account hounding him online and leaking personal details about his private life, as well as his former romance with Megan. Soap fans will already know that Jodie Ramsey, who has struck up a friendship with Daniel on the cobbles and moved into his flat, is the person behind the account. Tensions reached a new high on Monday evening when Daniel's young son Bertie began suffering bullying from classmates as a direct result of the account.
Now, according to next week's spoilers, Jodie is set to be exposed as Truthteller. In upcoming scenes, an anxious Daniel braces himself for his return to work, as Bertie sweetly presents him with a World's Best Teacher mug. Back at school, however, Lily taunts Daniel by reading aloud Truthteller2's most recent posts after the account is deleted. When Lily deliberately collides with Daniel, he's devastated to discover his new mug smashed beyond repair and dissolves into tears.
Later, Daniel attempts to seek solace at the Rovers, but Adam Barlow prevents Sean Tully from serving him, prompting a distressed Daniel to storm off. He soon crosses paths with Megan, where he unleashes his frustration on the teacher. The following morning, Daniel scours his laptop for further malicious posts.
However, when Jodie makes a passing remark, Daniel is horrified to realise she is behind the trolling. It isn't long before Daniel confronts Jodie, incensed at how she has robbed him of sleep, driven him to paranoia and depression, all while posing as someone he could confide in. A guilt-ridden Jodie insists she has no connection to Truthteller2, but Daniel throws her out.
Later, in a drunken state at the Rovers, Daniel exposes Jodie as his online tormentor. Feigning tears, Jodie flees the pub.
Shortly afterwards, Bertie complains of hunger, but a heavily inebriated Daniel dozes off on the sofa. As Bertie attempts to prepare his own meal, smoke begins pouring from the kitchen and he flees, leaving Daniel unconscious while Bertie wanders the streets alone. The next morning, Daniel is jolted awake by a call from school reporting that Bertie has failed to arrive. As Daniel takes stock of his surroundings, he is struck with a sickening realisation — Bertie is nowhere to be found.
It is not long before Adam and Daniel engage in a furious row over his reckless parenting, during which Adam references his late wife Sinead, who is Bertie's mother, prompting Daniel to snap. In his rage, he accidentally hits Ken Barlow, sending him reeling. As the week draws to a close, Daniel's relatives stage an intervention, with Ken warning he's heading down the same road to alcoholism as Peter. This brutal truth triggers Daniel to storm off, but he's left stunned when social services arrive at his doorstep.
Coronation Street continues on weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
