On Thursday, No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner was stunned in five sets by Juan Manuel Cerundolo. The top-ranked Italian was a game away from winning the match in straight sets but began to cramp in his right quad and was never able to recover. Sinner had won 30 straight matches entering the second round and was the second-largest favorite to win the French Open since 1990.
Then, hours later, Raphael Collignon defeated No. 5 seed Ben Shelton in straight sets, causing more chaos in the men's draw. In the women's draw, defending champion Coco Gauff and top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka both overcame early struggles to advance in straight sets. Below, you'll find all the essential information, including key takeaways and the schedule for tomorrow's matches. Men's Results and Upcoming Schedule1 of 2 Juan Manuel Cerundolo def.

On Thursday, Juan Manuel Cerundolo stunned No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner in five sets. Sinner, seeking his first career Grand Slam and 31st straight win, stood one game away from closing the match in straight sets.
However, the 24-year-old Italian began to experience cramping in his right quad and was never able to recover. The movement, power, and precision that had made him nearly unbeatable were nowhere to be found. Sinner entered as the second-largest favorite to win the French Open since 1990.
Hours later, another top seed fell as Raphael Collignon defeated No. 5 seed Ben Shelton in straight sets. Collignon committed just 13 unforced errors and was dominant on first serve, winning 44 of 50 points. Third round action begins tomorrow on TNT, which will broadcast live from Roland-Garros starting at 5 a.m. ET.
There will also be whip-around coverage on truTV at the same time, while all courts will stream live on HBO Max. The entire men's bracket can be found here. Below, you can find Friday's schedule: Andrey Rublev (11) vs. Nuno Borges Thiago Agustin Tirante vs.

Jakub Mensik (26) Karen Khachanov (13) vs. Jesper de Jong 9:30 a.m. ET Novak Djokovic (3) vs. Joao Fonseca Casper Ruud (15) vs.
Tommy Paul (24) 2:15 p.m. ET Alexander Zverev (2) vs. Quentin Halys *Predicted winner in bold Match of the Day: Novak Djokovic (3) vs. Joao Fonseca (28) Novak Djokovic is the only former Grand Slam champion left in the draw after Jannik Sinner's stunning second-round loss.
The 39-year-old Serbian will never have a greater chance to win a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title. But he must not overlook his third-round opponent, Joao Fonseca. The 19-year-old Brazilian sensation, born a month after Djokovic won his first ATP Tour title, has boundless potential with his blistering serve, booming forehand, and top-tier athleticism. If he can dictate pace early and force Djokovic to play his style of physically grueling tennis, the match is his to win.
That being said, Fonseca has lost six straight matches against top-10 ranked players, and Djokovic's experience and mentality could be the difference here. Fonseca must play without nerves, but even that may not be enough against Djokovic, who will certainly have some extra motivation. Prediction: No. 3 Novak Djokovic def. No. 28 Joao Fonseca in 4 sets Women's Results and Upcoming Schedule2 of 2 No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka def.

No. 23 Elise Mertens, 6-4, 6-0 No. 25 Diana Shnaider def. McCartney Kessler, 7-6 (3), 6-1 No. 28 Anastasia Potapova def. Katie Boulter, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 Diane Parry def. No. 30 Ann Li, 6-3, 6-4 Daria Kasatkina def.
Susan Bandecchi, 7-5, 7-6 (11) Maria Sakkari def. Claire Liu, 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-3 Camila Osorio def. Yulia Putintseva, 7-5, 6-7 (6), 7-5 Oleksandra Oliynykova def. Kimberly Birrell, 6-3, 0-6, 7-6 (5) Coco Gauff overcame early struggles to defeat Mayar Sherif in straight sets.
The two-time Grand Slam champion needed 59 minutes to win the opening set, hitting three doubles faults and committing 17 unforced errors. The No. 4 seed found her signature baseline tennis in the second set, however, and faced few troubles. Aryna Sabalenka also got off to a slow start before defeating Elsa Jacquemot in straight sets. Sabalenka committed an uncharacteristic 20 unforced errors in the opening set but was able to escape late.
In the second set, the four-time major champion found her return game and continued to apply pressure as Jacquemot's form took a massive dip. The entire women's bracket can be found here. Below, you can find Friday's schedule: Wang Xiyu vs. Yuliia Starodubtseva Marta Kostyuk (15) vs.
Viktorija Golubic Iga Swiatek (3) vs. Magda Linette Karolina Muchova (10) vs. Jil Teichmann Sorana Cirstea (18) vs. Solana Sierra 7:30 a.m.
ET Mirra Andreeva (8) vs. Marie Bouzkova (27) 8:30 a.m. ET Elina Svitolina (7) vs. Tamara Korpatsch 10:30 a.m.
ET Belinda Bencic (11) vs. Peyton Stearns *Predicted winner in bold Match of the Day: Mirra Andreeva (8) vs. Marie Bouzkova (27) On Friday, Mira Andreeva will look to reach the Round of 16 at the French Open for the third time. The 19-year-old has been extremely impressive on the clay swing this season, reaching at least the quarterfinal of both WTA Masters 1000 clay events while winning the Linz Open.
Andreeva is the overwhelming favorite to win this matchup against Marie Bouzkova. However, Bouzkova plays such solid defense from the baseline, and if she can stay consistent, she can frustrate Andreeva and make this match intriguing. Prediction: No. 27 Marie Bouzkova def.
