Actor Ram Charan apologised to Jasprit Bumrah after a major on-stage goof-up. During the grand music launch of 'Peddi' in Bhopal, Ram Charan was asked to describe Indian cricketers. He called Sachin Tendulkar's career as 'legendary run', MS Dhoni as 'calm and cool', and said that Rohit Sharma is 'everybody's man'. He also described Virat Kohli as 'fire'.
However, when he was asked about Jasprit Bumrah, he made a hilarious on-stage goof-up and mistook the pacer for a footballer. Ram Charan said he loves football and is Jasprit Bumrah's biggest fan. He also congratulated the pacer for promoting football. Bumrah is one of the most iconic cricketers in the world and a major goof-up like this wasn't going to go unnoticed.
The clip quickly went viral on social media and invited brutal trolling for the actor. Ram Charan recognised the error and took to social media to apologise to the India pacer. "Uff… I’m genuinely so forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to @Jaspritbumrah93 Ji for the mix-up - it was a genuine human error in the middle of all the excitement and the crowd.
I truly respect you, and I am a huge fan of your game. You make every Indian feel proud when you consistently put batsmen on the back foot," he wrote. Rare Failure For Jasprit BumrahMeanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah did not have a great outing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2026. Being the leader of the bowling attack, MI rested most of their hopes on the veteran, but he had a rare failure for the franchise and managed to pick just four wickets in 13 matches.
Bumrah's low returns, clubbed with the below-par showings of big guns like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and others, meant that MI failed to make the playoffs. In fact, they lost nine of the 13 games played so far, and are set to finish ninth this season. The five-time champions have not won an IPL title since 2020.
