Haryana: Man beats wife to death after fight in Rohtak; arrested

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Dobh village under the Bahu Akbarpur police station area on Monday night. The victim was identified as Joshna Bhanu. A domestic dispute is suspected to have triggered the incident. The police later arrested the accused, identified as Azad.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning after police received information about the woman’s death and reached the spot. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also visited the crime scene and collected samples for examination. In his police complaint, Azad’s father, Guddu, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, said his son had an altercation with Joshna on Monday night. “I went there and pacified the quarrel after convincing them. Thereafter, I returned home.

This morning, I came to know that my son had killed his wife by attacking her with a wooden stick. When I reached the house, I found Joshna lying dead on the bed,” the complainant said. Mahesh Kumar, SHO of Bahu Akbarpur police station, said the police received information about the incident from the Control Room at 7:40 am. “The accused Azad has been arrested, and further investigation is underway,” he said.
