
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours starting from 9:00am today. According to a Met Office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes, are likely at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Besides, rainfall is likely at a few places in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, and at one or two places in Khulna and Barishal divisions. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours until 6:00am today was recorded in Feni at 101mm. Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna division and several districts, including Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj and Patuakhali, and it may continue.
