Coronation Street viewers were overjoyed as a well-loved character made a surprise return to the cobbles. Kit, played by Jacob Roberts, first appeared on the ITV soap in 2024 as Bernie Winter's (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son and quickly found himself entangled in a web of drama. During his time in Weatherfield, Kit discovered he had a secret son, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), and survived a stabbing that left him fighting for his life. The copper has also had his fair share of romantic conquests, including a brief fling with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) before falling for Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien).
However, Kit had been noticeably absent from the soap recently, having relocated to Wales for a secondment. His temporary departure couldn't have come at a worse time for his girlfriend Sarah, who had been struggling after being attacked and knocked unconscious by Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances Brown). Kit's absence also meant he missed significant developments in the Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) murder investigation, following the abusive character's demise in April.
Nevertheless, in Thursday's episode (June 4), fans were thrilled to see Kit reappear on screens, timing his return to Weatherfield perfectly to coincide with his son Brody's arrest. , reports the Liverpool Echo . The teenager was hauled in for questioning under suspicion of theft, accused of swiping Todd Grimshaw's (Gareth Pierce) phone after forensic analysis revealed his fingerprints all over the device, which had gone missing since the night of Theo's murder. Fans were ecstatic to see Kit's return, taking to a Coronation Street Facebook fan page to express their delight. One enthusiastic viewer exclaimed: "Finally!
Kit is back." Another relieved fan commented: "I was starting to think he'd fallen down a black hole." A third fan eagerly chimed in, writing: "Yay, I've missed his gorgeous face." Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
