Police arrest suspect in Jan. 10 stabbing incident

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. Officers were sent to a bar at Market and Chatham streets at about 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 10 after receiving a report of an injured woman who had been stabbed. Further investigation revealed that there had been a verbal dispute between two women in the bar. The dispute moved outside where the victim suffered a stab wound.
Police say the victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Break and enters Brantford police officers are investigating a series of overnight garage and shed break-ins that occurred in the Colborne Street West – Gilkison Street area.
Police are looking for a male suspect and believe there may be other victims in the neighbourhood who have yet to come forward. Evidence collected by police so far suggests the suspect may have sustained an injury and police are asking residents to check their properties for signs of break-ins as well as blood stains and splatter in and around sheds, garages, gates and fences.
Police are also asking residents to review any security footage and report any signs of suspicious activity in the neighborhood.
