Rajkummar Rao is all set to play former Indian star cricketer Sourav Ganguly on the big screen. Titled as Dada, the film is being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

While the shooting has already begun in Kolkata, the fans are getting curious to see the first look of Rajkummar Rao as Sourav Ganguly. Now, the wait is over as some viral photos from the sets of the film in Kolkata are now going viral on social media in which one can see the Stree actor fully transformed into the character of Sourav Ganguly. In the photos, Rajkummar looks like Sourav Ganguly in the frame.

He is seen wearing a red jersey and black track pants. Especially, the hairstyle of the actor resembles that of the West Bengal-based cricketer from his young days. For the unversed, Sourav Ganguly had been one of the most popular captains in the history of Indian cricket. In his captaincy, Team India won the Champions Trophy 2002 and the NatWest Series 2002.

The team had reached the final of the 2003 Cricket World Cup against Australia but couldn’t win the match. Coming back to the viral pictures of Rajkummar Rao, they have indeed increased the excitement for the project. Tanya Maniktala has been roped in to play the role of Sourav’s wife, Dona Ganguly, in the film. The details about the project are still underwraps. Coming back to Rajkummar Rao, the actor was last seen in the film, Toaster, which released on Netflix on April 15. Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by Rajkummar’s wife Patralekhaa, the film also starred Sanya Malhotra as the female lead.

Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Farah Khan, Upendra Limaye, Vinod Rawat, Jitendra Joshi and Seema Pahwa played the supporting roles in the film. Apart from that, Rajkummar Rao will also be seen in Stree 3. His last theatrical release, Maalik didn’t do well at the box office. Maalik was directed by Pulkit and it also starred Manushi Chhillar, Anushmaan Pushkar, Saurabh Shukla, Saurabh Sachdeva and Prosenjit Chatterjee in key roles.
