Ram Charan's Peddi has raced past the Rs 100-crore mark worldwide within a day of its release, and the milestone sparked celebrations among fans and the film's team. Joining the festivities was Charan's wife, Upasana Konidela, whose cake-cutting and fireworks celebration has now gone viral on social media.A video widely shared online shows Upasana stepping out of her residence in a simple pink salwar kurta to greet fans gathered outside. With folded hands, she thanked well-wishers before cutting a cake featuring a poster of Peddi. Interestingly, it also surpassed the opening day worldwide gross of a few big films, including Pathaan (Rs 104.19 crore) and Dhurandhar (Rs 43 crore). The list also includes Prabhas's The Raja Saab, which opened at Rs 100.9 crore globally.Peddi follows the journey of a man fighting for identity, dignity and recognition. Ram Charan plays the titular character, a naturally gifted athlete skilled in cricket, wrestling and running.Set in Vizianagaram, the film traces Peddi's rise from a celebrated sportsman to a leader who takes up the cause of his village.
