Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar commended his son Arjun Tendulkar following his debut for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, acknowledging his patience, discipline and dedication during the extended wait for his opportunity. On X, Sachin Tendulkar posted, “Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match.” He added, “Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have.
Love you always.” In his first IPL appearance this season for LSG, Arjun Tendulkar bowled four overs, conceding 36 runs and taking the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh, who scored 69 runs off 39 balls including seven fours and two sixes. The left-arm pacer’s performance received attention despite being expensive during a high-scoring match. Punjab Kings secured a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2026 match in Lucknow, chasing a target of 197 comfortably. Captained by Shreyas Iyer, who scored a brilliant unbeaten maiden IPL century (101 off 51 balls), Punjab Kings also benefited from Prabhsimran Singh’s fluent 69 off 39 balls.
Their efforts propelled PBKS to fourth place in the standings with 15 points. Earlier, LSG scored 196 for six, supported by a strong start from Josh Inglis (72 off 44 balls) and a quick 37 from Abdul Samad, despite regular breakthroughs from Punjab bowlers including Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen.
However, their total proved insufficient as PBKS surpassed the target with an over to spare.
