Salman Khan has been following the tradition of making Eid special for his fans, and he stood by it in 2026 as well. On Thursday (May 28), the actor took to his Instagram and X to announce the release of a new music video for his song Main Hoon from his upcoming movie Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace. The music video featuring Salman Khan alongside his co-star Chitrangda Singh explores a new emotion for the song. This video comes after the film originally planned for theatrical release was pushed back, due to reshoots and rebranding after the name change.
Main Hoon: Depicts the soul of a soldier’s love story The Main Hoon song was first unveiled on Valentine’s Day 2026, when it was strategically dropped following the love genre of the song. It was released as the second track of the film, then titled Battle of Galwan. The song deliberately focuses on the personal side of a soldier rather than being just focused on the battlefield. Composed and co-written by the son of veteran actress Kunickaa Sadanand, Ayaan Lall, the track features the soulful vocals of Shreya Ghoshal alongside Lall himself.
The song, however, is penned by Shabbir Ahmed and is choreographed by Shabina Khan. The original version of the track explores and depicts the story of what a soldier’s duty costs at home. It transitions from the warmth of a family together to the hollow ache that fills the same space when a soldier leaves for his duty.
Meanwhile, the new video version of the song, which was released this morning on the occasion of Eid, is entirely shot in black and white, ripping away the colours of the original one. The video showcases the characters of Salman and Chitrangda alone, depicting the emotional weight of separation between them. This different angle of emotional approach makes it stand out from the one released on Valentine's Day. When will Maatrubhumi release?
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced under Salman Khan’s production house- Salaman Khan Films, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China. Salman Khan plays the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16th Bihar regiment, who laid down his life during the conflict. Chitrangda Singh is playing the role of his wife, bringing in the emotional front to the story. The film was initially scheduled for an April 17, 2026, theatrical release; however, it has faced delays due to the reshoots and mandatory Ministry of Defense screening.
The makers are now planning to release the film around Independence Day. Get the Latest Entertainment News, Bollywood News and Gossips Also Find Upcoming Movies, Latest Movies and Web Series, Visit Times Now for Live Coverage.
