By Tehelka BureauSanchit Patel, a student of Physics Wala, education company has earned a place in the Indian team for the upcoming International Junior Science Olympiad through his outstanding academic dedication and consistent hard work. The competition will be held this year in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Sanchit is among the select students who have received the opportunity to represent India on the global stage. Only six students are selected nationwide for this team.
The founder and CEO of Physics Wallah, Alakh Pandey, said, “Sanchit’s success is proof that with the right guidance and strong determination, any student can achieve great milestones. Reaching a prestigious platform like IJSO requires immense dedication and hard work, and Sanchit has demonstrated that with complete commitment. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement and wish him great success on the global stage,” Sanchit Patel said, “Participating in a national-level science competition was both challenging and highly inspiring. Balancing subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together required a lot of effort and concentration.
I give the biggest credit for this achievement to my parents, whose constant support always motivated me. I am also grateful to my school, which gave me a strong academic foundation. Along with that, I sincerely thank Physics Wallah. From the initial batches to the final camps, the teachers explained difficult concepts in a very simple way.
They gave me confidence and deep understanding, which helped me reach this level.” Sanchit’s preparation journey was filled with continuous learning, practice, and hard work. He began his preparation through foundation batches and gradually progressed to advanced concept classes, qualifier batches, and intensive training camps. By consistently performing well, he successfully cleared all the rigorous stages of selection and ultimately secured his place in Team India. Sanchit, a Class 10 student of Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Bettiah, has been greatly inspired by his family.
His father is a former member of the armed forces, and his mother is a homemaker. The selection process for the Junior Science Olympiad is extremely competitive and challenging. It begins with the National Standard Examination in Junior Science, in which thousands of students from across the country participate. After this, only around 300–350 students were selected for the next stage, the Indian National Junior Science Olympiad.
This level tests deep analytical abilities, and eventually about 35 students are selected. Following this, the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education conducts the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp, where the final selection takes place. From there, only 4 to 6 students are chosen to represent India internationally.
