Arne Slot has rejected an approach from Fulham to become their next manager, according to talkSPORT. The Dutchman was sacked by Liverpool last week, and Andoni Iraola was announced as his replacement on Thursday. Fulham are looking to make a new appointment amid the departure of Marco Silva, who is heading to Benfica. Slot became of interest to the Cottagers, but he has turned down the opportunity to move to west London. talkSPORT reported earlier in the week that Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is interested in the Fulham job.
McKenna has an £8million release clause in his contract at Ipswich due to their promotion to the Premier League. Also Read: Van Dijk: I Was Not Consulted Before Liverpool Sacked Slot Former Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has also been an option.
However, he has ruled out returning to the top flight by insisting he will not take a new job this summer. Slot was dismissed as Liverpool head coach just a year after guiding them to the Premier League title. Dutch football journalist Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT that the former Feyenoord boss was surprised with the decision.
However, he is said to not have any ill-feeling towards Liverpool. Slot has been linked with AC Milan since leaving Liverpool, but he may well be set to take to international management.
