Two teenage boys have been charged over an alleged attempted kidnapping and assault in Sydney’s north-west. At about 8pm last Thursday, May 28, police were told four unknown males had allegedly tried to kidnap a 36-year-old man at a home in Eastwood. The 36-year-old suffered minor injuries to his leg and arm and was taken to hospital in a stable condition. A short time later, police arrested two 17-year-old boys nearby.
Officers searched them and allegedly seized multiple items including black balaclavas, surgical gloves, duct tape and a knife. The two boys were charged with group assault, affray, and disguising their face with an intent to commit a crime. One of the boys was also charged with carrying a knife. They were both bailed to appear in children’s court on June 22.
At about 1.30pm yesterday, police attended a school in Bonnyrigg and re-arrested both boys. They were hit with additional charges including kidnapping, assault as part of criminal group activity, and participating in a criminal group. They were refused bail to appear in court today. The investigation continues.
