The San Antonio Spurs will be heading to the NBA Finals after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7. It was a great battle between both teams, but the Spurs showed they had more talent when it mattered the most. Several players stepped up and gave them what they needed, and one of them was Julian Champagnie. Champagnie finished Game 7 with 20 points and made six 3-pointers.
The Spurs needed every one of those 3-pointers, and it helped them seal the deal against the Thunder. With that stat, Champagnie put his name in the history books with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the only players to make six or more 3-pointers in a Conference Finals Game 7. That’s a huge accomplishment for Champagnie, especially when you’re in the same conversation as two of the best shooters to ever play the game. Julian Champagnie (20 PTS, 6-10 3PM) played a HUGE part in the @spurs' Game 7 win tonight!

It was never going to be easy for the Spurs to get this far, especially with their lack of playoff experience together. In the end, they showed that experience didn’t matter, and they had the talent to get past all of their opponents in the postseason. Their hardest challenge was the Thunder, who were the reigning champions and knew what it took to get to the NBA Finals.
Unfortunately for the Thunder, they didn’t have some of their key players due to injuries, and the Spurs took advantage. At the same time, the Spurs had played well against the Thunder all season, so there’s no surprise that they were able to get past them. The next challenge for the Spurs will be the New York Knicks, who have arguably played the best basketball this postseason.
