Ghana's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup received a boost on Thursday with the arrival of six more players at the Black Stars' training camp in Cardiff. Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Abdul Mumin, Kwasi Sibo, Jonas Adjetey and Prince Kwabena Adu reported to camp and joined their teammates for training at Dragon Park. Their arrival increases the number of players in camp to 22 as head coach Carlos Queiroz continues preparations for Ghana's international friendly against Wales on June 2. The six players strengthen several areas of the squad, with Ati-Zigi adding to the goalkeeping department, while Sulemana, Sibo and Adu provide additional options in midfield and attack.
Defenders Abdul Mumin and Jonas Adjetey also reinforce the team's defensive unit. They join a squad that already includes Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Christopher Bonsu Baah and Elisha Owusu. With the squad nearing full strength, the Black Stars are expected to step up preparations in the coming days, with two training sessions scheduled for Friday. The friendly against Wales will serve as Ghana's final major test before the team departs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
