Taylor Swift is rumoured to be plotting her live return at Glastonbury Festival next summer. The star, who is due to wed Travis Kelce later this year, is not expected to return to live concert stages until 2027.
However, organisers have been conspiring to get Taylor to Worthy Farm for a number of years, and insdiers believe it could finally happen as soon as next June. Taylor missed her opportunity to wow Glastonbury in 2020 when she was announced as the Sunday Night Pyramid Stage headliner. Frustratingly the event was eventually cancelled due to Covid and the ensuing pandemic which put an end to large number of live events. Now an insider spilled: “Taylor was all up for coming to Glastonbury and it remains somewhere she genuinely wants to play.
"The Eavis family have offered an open invitation for her to come back anytime and it could be sooner than expected…the wheels are in motion.” In 2020 Taylor’s fellow headliner was Paul McCartney who managed to reschedule his slot in 2022, but head honcho Emily Eavis was unable to get Taylor back due to her many other commitments. In 2023 she embarked on her hugely successful Eras tour which lasted the best part of two years, alongside multiple album releases and re-recordings of her back catalogue. Swift gave a shout out to Paul McCartney this week while he was promoting his just-released album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. Swift posted a bicep emoji with the message: “Never not inspired by this eternally exceptional artist.” Back in 2020 McCartney revealed he had planned to ask Swift to join him onstage for his Covid cancelled Glastonbury set telling Rolling Stone: “Were you going to invite me?” Swift replied: “I was hoping that you would.” In fact Macca wanted to play Shake It Off because “I know it, it’s in C!” Glasto is taking a year off - dubbed a fallow year - an agricultural tradition where land is left unplanted to allow the soil to recover and replenish its nutrients.
However, the stars are aligning for her to make a return in 2027 as this year is all about Taylor’s wedding plans. She is still making new music with I Knew It, I Knew You from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack arriving this week. Other big names tipped to play Glasto in 2027 include Oasis who are expected to announce a further run of reunion concerts. Harry Styles has also been linked with a Worthy Farm headline slot.
