Wild Waves Theme & Water Park in Federal Way, Washington, is set to permanently close after its final season, which will conclude in November with its annual Fright Fest Halloween event. The nearly 50-year-old Pacific Northwest attraction, situated south of Seattle, is closing due to years of financial strain, including millions of dollars in losses sustained since the COVID-19 pandemic and escalating operational costs. Originally established in 1977 as Enchanted Village and later expanded in 1984 to include the Wild Waves water park, the combined amusement and water park has been a significant community landmark.
Despite the impending closure, park officials have scheduled a full slate of programming for the final season, featuring dive-in movies, foam parties, 21-and-over events, and a Hispanic cultural festival. Park leadership is urging visitors to return for one last experience, with season passes available for $75.99, offering perks like complimentary guest tickets and free parking.
